About
The Focused Diffused Lighting Technique (FDL) program is designed for experienced photographers with intermediate to advanced skills. You’ll need to be fully comfortable shooting in full manual mode and have a solid grasp of the fundamentals of light. FDL combines on-location lighting with post-processing, and while it calls for an artistic eye, it’s a skill you can develop quickly with consistent practice. A strong working knowledge of Photoshop is essential, including layers, masks, and confident use of the Pen Tool. In this course, you’ll learn how the signature FDL look is created, what equipment you need, and how to plan, set up, and shoot your first car fine art photoshoot. In the post-production section, you’ll learn how to choose the right frames for the layering process, how to blend multiple exposures into a single image, and how to refine and export the final artwork. FDL was developed to photograph rare and beautiful cars exactly where they are — museums, garages, or dealership floors — using minimal gear and causing minimal disruption. If you prefer to travel light, work fast, and shoot anywhere, anytime, this course is for you.
