The Louwman Museum has over two hundred and fifty antique and classic motor cars. It is the world’s oldest and in our minds the most beautifully displayed collection we have ever seen. The museum does not just “show” the cars, but takes one on a journey through time, telling the story of how cars changed just about every sphere of our lives, from art to fashion, music to the movies, and the stories of kings, queens, socialites and even a few Maharaja’s. Each car is beautifully displayed in a area which adds to the story told. The tour through the museum, which is easily a full day outing, ends in a beautifully reconstructed town square with quaint shop fronts.
After our meeting with the Director of the museum, we are looking forward to a return visit later this year.
